Mission
The Task Force serves as a catalyst for encouraging and promoting the involvement of the campus community in the renewal and revitalization efforts of the university and the city after Hurricane Katrina. Our efforts will be grounded in the Jesuit tradition of the service of faith and the promotion of justice.
Goals
- To affirm and communicate Loyola’s commitment to educational excellence and social justice;
- To mobilize the campus community in campus and city-wide renewal/rebuilding efforts;
- To share information and knowledge pertaining to renewal/rebuilding activities including community needs and successes;
- To solicit innovative ideas and insights;
- To communicate Loyola’s strengths and accomplishments as an institution; and
- To encourage the sponsorship of activities promoting a spirit of relaxation, recreation, and inspiration by the university for the larger community.
